The Syangja team continued its winning streak by becoming the champion at the 5th Gandaki Province ITF Taekwon-Do Championship held in Burtibang, Baglung on 29-30 May, 2025.
Teams from six different districts of Gandaki Province, along with the host team from Baglung, participated in the event. Syangja emerged as the overall winner, securing 15 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze medals. Tanahu claimed second place with 7 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze medals, while the host team Baglung finished third with 4 gold, 5 silver, and 11 bronze medals.
In individual honors, Ahom Gurung from Syangja was awarded the best male player, and the best female player award went to Salaka Shrestha from Tanahu.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Acting Mayor of Dhorpatan Municipality, Mr. Dhan Bahadur Kayat, as the chief guest. He praised the athletes for their discipline and development of personality, calling them the jewels of the nation. Bhek Bahadur Khatri, chairman of Dhorpatan Municipality-2, highlighted the importance of sports as a key factor in the country’s development.
The program was organized under the chairmanship of Pratik Gharti Magar, president of the Baglung District ITF Taekwon-Do Association. Other notable attendees included Gham Bahadur Thapa, Secretary General of the Nepal itf, Akash Chandra Gharti, EB Member of Nepal ITF, Ward Chairman Bhek Bahadur Khatri along with journalists, officials, seniors, and referees.
