2026 ITF Taekwon-Do World Cup Competition and Conclusion
The 2026 ITF Taekwon-Do World Cup concluded successfully after four memorable days of competition in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, marking a historic milestone and opening a new chapter in ITF competitions.
Held under the auspices of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, led by its President, Prof. Grand Master Ri Yong Son, the World Cup brought together athletes, coaches, umpires and officials from across the ITF community in a spirit of excellence, friendship and mutual respect.
The competitions were conducted in accordance with the updated ITF Tournament Rules by a professional umpire squad led by Head Umpire Grand Master Michael Prewett of Wales. Their expertise and dedication supported the consistent application of the rules throughout the event.
Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong, Chairman of the ITF Technical and Education Committee and the ITF Tournament Committee, commended both the high standard of the athletes’ performances and the organisation of the competitions.
We are grateful for the positive feedback received from the ITF community, reflecting the alignment of ITF’s governance decisions with the aspirations of its membership. This encouragement strengthens our commitment to continuously improving the competition experience for athletes, coaches and officials.
The ITF extends its sincere gratitude to the local Organising Committee, the Association of Taekwon-Do ITF of Kazakhstan and its President, Master Yerlan Issekeshev, together with all officials, volunteers and supporters whose dedication made this historic event possible.
Congratulations to all athletes and participating teams for their achievements, sportsmanship and contribution to the spirit of the World Cup. As the ITF family bids farewell to Turkistan, we look forward to building on this success together.
