Celebrating 60 Years of the International Taekwon-Do Federation

On this occasion, marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (I.T.F.), we pay tribute to our legendary Founder, General Choi Hong Hi.

The 22nd of March 1966 ushered in a new era in Taekwon-Do with the establishment of the I.T.F., which developed rapidly into a global organization. Today, it unites a vast international community of Taekwon-Do practitioners across five continents.

In our days, the Federation founded by General Choi Hong Hi carries forward his work in direct institutional continuity, operating from the Headquarters in Vienna which he himself established and from which he actively led the development of Taekwon-Do.

May his legacy continue to inspire and guide people worldwide in their efforts to build a more peaceful world through the moral principles and foundations he left behind.

This year holds even greater significance as we also prepare for the 60th Anniversary ITF Summit in Vienna in November 2026, to be held in conjunction with the birthday of the Founder.
