ITF Celebrates 70 Years of naming Taekwon-Do – Honoring the Legacy of General Choi Hong Hi

The International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) proudly held a commemorative ceremony in Jesolo, Italy, during the XXIII ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, marking the 70th anniversary of the naming of Taekwon-Do by the Founder, General Choi Hong Hi.

This significant milestone celebrates seven decades since General Choi first gave the martial art its name, shaping what would become a global movement rooted in discipline, respect, and self-improvement. The event served as both a tribute to the Founder’s enduring vision and a recognition of those who have carried forward his legacy.

During the ceremony, the ITF President honored several distinguished pioneers, Grand Masters, and officials for their outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the Federation. Their dedication, tireless efforts, and indomitable spirit have been essential to the advancement and global recognition of ITF Taekwon-Do.
