ITF Delegation Visits Turkistan Mosque to Pay Respects and Support the Local Community

On the occasion of the 2026 ITF Taekwon-Do World Cup, ITF President Prof. Grand Master Ri Yong Son visited the Turkistan Mosque in Kazakhstan with Master Yerlan Issekeshev, President of the Association of Taekwon-Do ITF of Kazakhstan, and a delegation of ITF dignitaries.

Turkistan holds a special place in the Islamic heritage of the region and is recognised as the spiritual capital of the Turkic world. In recognition of that significance, the delegation visited the mosque to pay its respects on behalf of the entire ITF family.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the mosque’s imam, Mr. Galymzhan Aikeev. It donated essential food supplies to local residents in need. Prof. Grand Master Ri Yong Son spoke with the imam and members of the community and helped distribute the donated goods.

ITF Headquarters thanks the World Cup organizers for the opportunity to visit the historic city of Turkistan, and the local residents and volunteers for their warm welcome and support.
