ITF IIC & ITS in Helsinki, Finland
GM Gary Miller conducted the official ITF IIC & ITS in Helsinki, Finland from 21–23 November at the invitation of ITF Finland President Mrs. Rose Pakarinen. Attendees included members from Finland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, and Ukraine.
The IIC classroom session took place on Friday, 21st November, where all participants undertook education across all aspects of the requirements to be an International TKD Instructor, including TKD & ITF history, ITF leadership, student oath, tenets of TKD, Instructor/Student relationship, duties & responsibilities, moral culture, charter of TKD, and theory of power.
Saturday and Sunday focused on the technical aspects of Taekwon-Do, including correct movement, the 24 patterns, pre-arranged sparring methods, and selected self-defence situations.
Five members undertook the test to qualify as new International Instructors. In addition, three students successfully completed their Dan promotion examinations:
- Mr. Tommi Lankinen – 4th Dan
- Mr. Antti Puisto – 4th Dan
- Mr. Ian Berkinfand – 3rd Dan
All participants expressed their deep satisfaction with GM Miller’s profound expertise, both in knowledge and technical skill. Each attendee felt they had gained invaluable insights and practical learning to further develop their own Taekwon-Do abilities. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to GM Miller for his dedication in leading this seminar and for his warm, genuine approach to every participant. His gracious and skillful personality touched everyone present, leaving no one unmoved, and allowed us all to enjoy not only the teachings but also the uplifting atmosphere of the weekend.
This seminar brought together knowledge, technical training, and examination opportunities, creating a memorable and unifying experience for all participants. GM Miller’s warmth, wisdom, and dedication ensured that the weekend will remain a cherished memory for all who attended.
