ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships XXIII – Third Day in Jesolo, Italy — ITF Congress and Opening Ceremony
On October 6th, 2025, the 29th ITF Congress convened with representatives from over 90 countries in attendance. The meeting began with a minute of silence in tribute to General Choi Hong Hi, the Founder of Taekwon-Do, honoring his vision and lifelong dedication to the art.
The Italian Organizing Committee received heartfelt appreciation for their works in preparing this prestigious event.
The ITF extends its sincere gratitude to all delegates, organizers, and participants for their commitment, enthusiasm, and contribution to the continued growth and unity of the Federation. With the spirit of Taekwon-Do guiding every step, the ITF looks forward to another successful and inspiring chapter in its history.
Following the Congress, the ITF President, accompanied by the Executive Board, several ITF VIPs, and the government officials opened the XXIII ITF World Championships. The event marked a proud moment for the international Taekwon-Do community, with participants representing more than 70 nations.
The Opening Ceremony began with inspiring speeches delivered by the Mayor of Jesolo, the host city, and a representative of OPES, both expressing their pride in welcoming the ITF and highlighting the importance of international cooperation through sport. Athletes from every participating nation then joined in a colorful parade, proudly representing their countries and demonstrating the spirit of friendship and unity that defines Taekwon-Do.
The audience was also treated to a special presentation by the athletes of Inclusive Taekwon-Do, who showcased their impressive skills and determination, embodying the principle that Taekwon-Do truly is for everyone. Their performance received warm applause and stood as a powerful reminder of the inclusivity and shared values at the heart of the ITF.
