International Taekwon‑Do Federation

Since 2021, the Czech Taekwon‑Do Federation has already organized over 10 ITF-endorsed online International Technical Seminars (ITS) and International Instructor Courses (IIC). This unvawering dedication of the Czech NGB to the development of ITF presents each year a unique opportunity for the ITF members all over the world to learn the original Taekwon‑Do from the chairman of the ITF Technical and Education Committee, Grand Master Hwang Ho Yong (9th Degree).

True to the tradition, yet another online ITS organized by the Czech NGB took place on the weekend of 18th & 19th January 2025. The translation from Czech to English was provided by the experienced Czech Master Ondrej Vrabel (7th Degree). The first of the 3 three-hour session (Saturday morning) started with the explanation of the composition of Taekwon‑Do, theory of power, basic techniques and proper Korean terminology. That was followed by the demonstration and explanation of the patterns Chon-Ji through Joong-Gun. The second session (Saturday afternoon) continued with the patterns Toi-Gye through Ge-Baek. The rest of the session was dedicated to the system of sparring (three-step, two-step, one-step, semi-free and free). The last session (Sunday morning) was dedicated to the patterns Eui-Am through Tong-Il. An important part of technical seminars is the ablity to ask questions and GM Hwang Ho Yong once again answered a lot of questions about technical and philosophical aspects of Taekwon‑Do techniques and patterns.

The online ITS was attended by almost 80 participants from Canada, Cyprus, Czechia, Finland, Greenland, Ireland, Korea, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Zimbabwe. GM Hwang would like to extend his thanks to GM Wayne Brown, GM Leslie Hutchison, and GM John Williamson for taking part in the seminar.
