International Taekwon‑Do Federation

In Slovenia, we eagerly awaited the International Technical and International Instructor Course, which then took place between 24. and 26. January 2025, led by Grand Master Gary Miller from the UK. On Friday, January 24, 2025, GM Gary Miller landed at the airport in Venice, from where we took him directly to the hotel where he was staying and where the first part of the seminar, namely the International Instructor Course, was scheduled.

As planned, the IIC started at 5:00 p.m., and 17 people from the ITF Association for Traditional Taekwon‑Do of Slovenia were present, including 10 candidates for the International Instructor license, and Master Emin Duraković was also present. Three hours of an interesting seminar passed quickly, as GM Gary Miller presented the topic in an interesting way, in which he included us and pointed out all the important aspects that an International Instructor must know. After the seminar, GM Gary Miller also conducted a special separate part of the training with exams for all new candidates for the International Instructor license. The evening ended with a pleasant dinner together, during which we talked a lot and relaxed about Taekwon‑Do.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, we started with a practical seminar according to the planned schedule. The first training from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. covered the basics of Taekwon‑Do and the first nine patterns. After lunch, in training from 15:00 to 18:00, we worked on patterns to Choi Yong, three, two and one step sparring . At the end of the training, the trainers also performed the Tong Il pattern for everyone present. Both training sessions on Saturday also had a special relaxed shorter part where Taekwon‑Do appeared in a practical form of self-defense. After the end of the training, GM Gary Miller also conducted the exams for the IV DAN for five candidates of the Slovenian Federation and the practical part of the exam for the VII DAN, in which four coaches from Slovenia participated. Saturday ended again with dinner together with Master Emin Duraković and the president of the ITF Association for Traditional Taekwon‑Do of Slovenia, Mr. Matevž Žugelj, who was also present at the exams for higher degrees.

At the last training from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025, all the patterns including Tong Il were cowered.  GM Gary Miller did a great job of scheduling the participants so that everyone was busy and active until the very end.

After the training, we were able to take a photo with GM Gary Miller and write the seminar in our booklets. After a relaxed lunch, we took GM Gary Miller to the airport in Venice, where his return flight home to the UK was waiting for him in the evening.

We were very satisfied with the content and management of the seminar in Slovenia, which is certainly very important for the ITF Association for Traditional Taekwon‑Do of Slovenia. The seminar was attended by 55 persons, of which 53 persons were from Slovenia and 2 persons from Hungary. Master Emin Duraković was also present at the seminar throughout.
