The first-ever ITF Taekwondo Police Championship was held with grandeur and excitement on February 9, 2025, at the Training and Education Command of the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

This prestigious competition, structured across various age categories, brought together 150 elite athletes from different clubs across Kabul, Parwan, and Maidan Wardak provinces.

The event was officially inaugurated in the presence of distinguished sports figures and high-ranking officials.

Alhaj Khushal Sarwari, Head of Sports at the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and Master Shoaib Rahmani, President of the Afghanistan National ITF Taekwondo Federation, official representative of the International Federation, and Vice President of ITF Asia, delivered inspiring speeches emphasizing the significance of this tournament in enhancing the role of sports among security forces.

Throughout the competition, athletes demonstrated exceptional technical skills and physical prowess, engaging in intense and thrilling matches.

Ultimately, the ITF Taekwon‑Do team of the Ministry of Interior Affairs delivered an outstanding performance, securing the championship title and claiming the coveted cup of this inaugural tournament.

The primary objectives of this event were to promote and expand ITF Taekwon‑Do among police forces, identify and encourage emerging talents, and foster a culture of discipline and sportsmanship within the security sector.

The successful execution of this championship marks a significant step toward embedding a strong sports culture within the police force.

The competition was conducted in a spirit of camaraderie and fair play, adhering to international standards and ensuring impartial officiating.

At the conclusion of the tournament, the champions and top-performing athletes were honored with awards and certificates in recognition of their excellence.
