International Taekwon‑Do Federation
On November 16-17, the international European Challenge Taekwon‑Do tournament Baltic Amber Cup 2024 took place at the Riga’s National Sport Arena in Riga, Latvia. Organized by the Latvian Taekwon‑Do Federation (LTF), this event once again proved its status as a beloved tradition for martial arts enthusiasts and those dedicated to a healthy lifestyle.
This annual tournament has grown into a key event in the Baltic Sea region, attracting a mix of seasoned athletes, beginners, and fans who cherish the vibrant atmosphere of sportsmanship. This year, the tournament welcomed teams from 16 clubs and featured 294 participants representing seven countries. Competing across five age categories - Cadets (10–13 years), Juniors (14–15 and 16–17 years), Adults (18–34 and 35–50 years). The event was a true celebration of inclusivity and competitive spirit.
In the fiercely contested team rankings, Parnu TKD club from Estonia emerged victorious, claiming the tournament’s grand trophy. Rīgas Lions from Riga secured second place, while team LTCS from Riga rounded off the top three.
Memorable Performances and Outstanding Athletes
The championship saw standout performances from athletes across all categories. Norwegian competitor Ida Hausmarka captivated spectators with her impeccable sparring technique, though her journey in the Tul discipline ended prematurely. Among adults, Aleksandra Andrejeva (Katleri, EST) and Deniss Gorshkov (Parnu TKD, EST) earned top honors. In the junior divisions, Andra Apine (Rīgas Lions, LAT) and Marks Aleksejevs (LTCS, LAT) delivered exceptional performances, while Roman Belikov (Parnu TKD, EST) and Emilija Kudure (LTCS, LAT) shone brightly in the cadet category.
