International Taekwon‑Do Federation

From the 12th – 13th October 2024 an ITF International Instructor Course and International Technical Seminar was held in Dublin, Ireland and conducted by Grandmaster Francis Barrett.  Practitioners from R.I.T.A Schools around the country and some guests from overseas were in attendance.  Assisted by Master John Jacob (VIII Degree) and Master Donal O’ Doherty (VIII Degree) Grandmaster Barrett took the participants through all aspects of Taekwon‑Do including the History of Taekwon‑Do, Theory of Power, Training Secrets of Taekwon‑Do, fundamental movements, stances, step sparring and self-defence techniques.

All 24 patterns from Chon-Ji to Tong-Il were performed and then discussed throughout the course of the weekend giving students the opportunity to question and improve their understanding and execution of the movements.  Techniques were demonstrated and practised with a partner to further understand and clarify their application.  Questions were encouraged and answered in detail.  Emphasis was placed on technical understanding and ongoing education as students and Instructors.  The thoroughly informative and enjoyable Seminar finished with an IIC examination successfully promoting all Applicants.
